All Time Worst Races

Believe that you can run farther or faster. Believe that you're young enough, old enough, strong enough, and so on to accomplish everything you want to do. Don't let worn out beliefs stop you from moving beyond yourself.
~John Bingham

So ever since I got my garmin, I've been blogging all about my recent workout times. And on the side bar of this blog I proudly display my race PR times. Enough bragging already, right?! In all seriousness though, I have come a loooooong way since I started running back in high school (when I could barely finish the 2 mile required for preseason soccer) and I want everyone to know that if I can improve as much as I have, anyone can. I seriously hated running when I first started and now I can't live without it.

Therefore, I proudly present to you....

My Worst Race Times

President's Cup 5K
June '03 - 25:40 (8:15 pace)
Same race last year: 19:35 (6:18 pace)

Spring Lake 5 (Miler)
May '05 - 45:45 (9:09 pace)
May '07 - 43:56 (8:47 pace)
Same race last year: 33:49 (6:45 pace)

Seaside Half Marathon
Oct. '08:1:51:14

I don't have many race time to post because I didn't run as many races then. I didn't start racing seriously until this past year and now I am addicted :) Don't underestimate yourself. You never know what you are capable of until you try. It is amazing what a little sweat and some passion can do.

Garmins are great. Fickle friends, but great also. I have a love/hate relationship with mine. But I can't imagine being without it

That is some kind of improvement -- 2 minutes per mile in a couple years!

That is encouraging.... because my 5K pace is just a little bitt off of yours :) Maybe in a few years I'll be running sub 7 min miles with ya lady! :)

Hey, I know it's a stretch but I'm thinking of running the San Francisco Marathon this year (gonna see how the half marathon goes first) but thought I would invite you along just fo kicks.... granted you'll probably be in wave 1 and I'll be in wave 9000, but still... I'd love to get together a group of blogging runners to marathon it with me! :)
