Cooper’s First Snowstorm

New Jersey got hit with tons of snow! So much that the governor declared a state of emergency.

Me out walking Cooper…

Luckily, I had these to keep me busy:

I got through 3 out of 4…not bad.

I spent the day recovering from the Christmas festivities, reading, relaxing, and cooking. Dan and I made some Snow Day Chilli and watched the football games.

This morning, Cooper was anxious to get out there and see the snow:

He liked it.

Today is supposed to be my first day of Boston Marathon training, but unfortunately, I can’t drive anywhere. That leaves me with a few options.

1.) Workout at home.
2.) Walk down to the gym in our apartment complex and hope to snag a treadmill.

I think I’m actually going to do some combination of the two. Dan also said that if the roads get any better he will drive me to the gym later. For now, I’m going to load up my new ipod touch and venture to our complex’s makeshift gym and hope to get in a few miles. I am a terrible treadmill runner and usually don’t last more than 30-45 minutes so we will see how this goes.
Wish me luck!

What is your favorite snow day activity?
I love catching up on reading in my sweats, curled up with the puppy.

I too am struggling with what kind of workout to do today - made even tougher by the fact that I think I'm starting to get sick :( Hope yours goes well!

Good luck on the treadmill! Sounds like today might be a good day to just curl up with the puppy and read otherwise - maybe nature is telling you it's okay to have an extra rest day.
My favorite snow day activity would probably be the same if I had a puppy. Since I don't, I usually read and cook!

My fave snow day activity is the same thing - curling up with a good book. The roads don't seem so bad where we are now, and the gym is a mile away, but motivation is lacking :-(
